Some of the first questions people ask me include: "What is naturopathic medicine and how is it different than main stream allopathic (your family doctor) medicine and how can it help me?"
Naturopathic medicine treats all kinds of patients with all kinds of conditions. I consider myself a general family practitioner. That means I can treat you and your family for most of your health care needs, however, when the occasion arises I will refer you to specialists in the required field. Sometimes I ask patients to see an acupuncturist, chiropractor, massage therapist or podiatrist. I am always willing to work with your established health care professionals, including your family doctor. Sometimes I might ask you to see your family doctor for further assessments such as blood tests, CT scans or MRIs, to assist with a definitive diagnosis. I might also refer you to your medical doctor for his referral to another specialist. If your medical doctor questions you about what you are taking from me I am available to speak with him directly and I welcome any collaboration with him on your behalf.
